Competition-style Bhangra

Bhangra is a traditional and energetic folk dance from Punjab, Northern India, and the newest trend in Bhangra is a super-athletic form developed as a result of University Bhangra competitions. This class is quite an aerobic workout for men and women, but fear not! You’re up to it – just challenge yourself.

Let us tip our stylish bowler hats to Bob Fosse, jazz dance choreographer extraordinaire! Samantha has brought the stylized, cynical sexuality of Fosse to Bellydance and Fosse-lized some tribal fusion combos for you to learn.

Temple Bollywood: Poses, Hand Gestures and Graceful Footwork
11am – 1pm
Single workshop - $40/$45

In this class, Samantha will help you train your body to project emotion through the use of Indian postures and classical hasta mudras (“hand positions”), plus teach graceful transitions and foot placement so you will feel centered and grounded no matter what your dance background!

The world-renowned Domba! Tribal Fusion troupe developed many of their own combos during their time together, which are a great addition to any tribal belly dancer's repertoire! Samantha will teach you as many as you can absorb in the time allotted.
